Andrew Cheung Kui-nung (Chinese: 張舉能; born September 1961) is currently the Chief Judge of the High Court of Hong Kong.
Born in Hong Kong, Cheung graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1983 and received his Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in 1984. He then went to Harvard University and received his Master of Laws degree in 1985.[1]
In 1985, Cheung was called to the Hong Kong Bar and he began private practice the following year. He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1995. Cheung was appointed as a judge of the District Court of Hong Kong in 2001. Sitting first as a Deputy High Court Judge in December 2001, he was appointed as a judge at the Court of First Instance of the High Court in 2003. Cheung was appointed as the Probate Judge in 2004 and became the Judge in charge of the Constitutional and Administrative Law List of the High Court in 2008. He was appointed as the Chief Judge of the High Court of Hong Kong in June 2011.[1][2][3]
